Should one retire on time? Should one take early retirement within the framework of the workplace's voluntary retirement arrangements? Should one postpone retirement?<\/p>\n\n<p>The decision is influenced by a variety of life circumstances and not just economic considerations.<br \/>Also, it is worth knowing that retiring before September 30th of the work year will cause the tax arrangement to be calculated in the same year that the employee also had income from work. Therefore, in many cases, the tax calculation will include both the retirement grant and the previous income, and will therefore be higher.<\/p>\n\n<p>Retiring on or after October 1st will result in the calculation of the tax year in the following year, during which the retiree may have no additional income and the tax calculation will be lower.<\/p>\n\n<p>Also, if there's a chance the employer will implement a voluntary retirement program in the organization and encourage retirement in exchange for benefits, it's worth trying to join it. If such a program has been implemented in the organization in the past, it's worth checking your eligibility to join it.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Financial planning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>As retirement approaches, it is recommended to conduct a thorough examination of all aspects related to pension payments, taxes, insurance, study funds, provident funds, etc., alongside existing and expected income, assets, existing liabilities, loans, and future needs. There are many options, and the answer depends on a variety of factors and, of course, on each person's individual needs.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Rights Against the Employer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Budgetary pension, sick day redemption, and common retirement bonuses at the workplace \u2013 these are all things that should be checked and their realization ensured with the employer.<\/p>\n\n<p>According to the law, the employer must pay severance pay amounting to one month's salary for each year of employment. Severance pay is calculated based on the last salary the employee receives before retirement, but only on the base salary (excluding travel expenses, bonuses, etc.).<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Is it mandatory to retire?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The dry letter of the law stipulates that when an employee reaches the mandatory retirement age (currently 67), the employer may terminate their employment.
